POPS PROGRESSIVE has become THE fun event each semester where orchestra members gather at multiple locations throughout an evening to eat, bond, and celebrate.   Did you ever wonder who “invented” Pops Progressive? What was the first one like? Let’s ask Liz (Stover) Rosenthal (Pops Class of 2008), creator of this now cherished tradition!

"The first Progressive was in March 2007. I think I came up with the idea as a social event for Pops because the Michigan Marching Band did progressives all the time. The MMB's progressives were usually divided by section and were more drinking parties --- but we did an actual dinner progressive which ended in a party.

It also came about because me, Carolyn, and Zack all lived really close to each other (on Tappan and Oakland Streets), so ours were the three dinner houses, and then people came back to my apartment for the after-party. I remember filling up a very large pot of water in my bathtub so I could make a big batch of baked ziti."
